Psalms 119:114
Thou art my hiding place and my shield: I hope in thy word.

Lamentations 3:24
The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.

Psalms 38:15
For in thee, O LORD, do I hope: thou wilt hear,

I have a window of Hope
That I go to when my heart is broken.
I can sit at my window with Him;
No words need to be spoken.
He is my hiding place,
Heís my shield and I hope in His Word.
He is my portion saith my soul,
Therefore I will hope in the Lord.

I have a window of Hope
That I go to when the world lets me down.
He knows what my heart is feeling;
I donít need to make a sound.
Though I canít always see through this window,
Sometimes it seems very dim.
I can feel a presence there as I hope
And I know that presence is Him!

Romans 5:1-5
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

If we have our faith placed in the blood of Jesus Christ which cleansed from sin, then, in Godís eyes, we are justified. If we are justified by our faith, we can have peace with God. We have access to Jesus Christ through our faith and for this He stands us in the center of His grace and we can rejoice and place our hope in the glory of God. Our tribulations and trials here on earth are not pleasant but God allows us to face these in order to strengthen us. They make us more patient. They give us experience. They cause us to hope!

Our hope is in the glory of God. The glory of God is Jesus Christ. Paul said in Philippians 3:8 that he counted all things but loss just for the knowledge of Jesus Christ. Romans 5:2 tells us to rejoice in the hope that knowledge brings. When a parent has a teenage child disappear, they continue to hope that child has only run away from home. They continue to hope that their child is still alive somewhere and will return to them alive and well. Sometimes that is exactly what does happen but they have no way of really knowing what will happen. Our hope in Jesus, on the other hand, is something we can be sure of. We can be sure that He was born of a Virgin, lived a sinless life, died a selfless, agonizing death for our sins, was placed in a tomb for three days, arose, ascended to heaven on a cloud, and will be coming back for us someday. Therein is where our hope lies. It is a sure hope.

Genesis 15:2-6
And Abram said, Lord GOD, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus?
And Abram said, Behold, to me thou hast given no seed: and, lo, one born in my house is mine heir.
And, behold, the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir.
And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.
And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness.

John 14:3
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

The bible is full of examples of people who hoped in the promises of God. Abraham is a great example of someone who had hope. God promised Abraham an heir and Abraham believed God and hoped in that promise of a son. He waited for this promise to be fulfilled for twenty-five years yet he still hoped. His hope was fulfilled in Isaac.

Our hope was fulfilled on Calvary and will be finished when Christ comes again to receive us unto himself so we can go be with Him in the place He has spent all this time preparing just for us. What difference does it make how much time we wait down here for that hope to be fulfilled? In comparison to the time we will be staying up there, it will seem but a few hours so don't get weary of the wait!

Sometimes we place our hope in the wrong thing. Maybe you are hoping a diet will make you feel better about yourself or make you more popular. Or you may have your hope in drugs or alcohol or mood boosters to make you feel better. Perhaps your hope is in your children, family or friends. You canít put your hope in anything except Jesus Christ. All we can really do while here on earth, after surrendering our lives to God, is live for Him as best we can and rejoice in the hope of Jesus Ė looking forward to the time when we will be united with Him in heaven one day. This life is temporary. Some say heaven is not real but sometimes I think it may be the other way around, maybe itís this life thatís not real!

What are you doing with your life? What are you hoping to accomplish? Do you stress out over the little things that wonít really matter next week? What great things have you set your hopes on? Do they really matter? What good would all the material things in the world be if you didnít have any hope of tomorrow? Donít just read these questions and go on to something else. Be careful what you hope in.
When you place your hope in Jesus
You will never be disappointed!

The Bible Tells Me So

Oh, how do I know?
(Oh, how does he know?)
Oh, how do I know?
(Oh, how does he know?)
This is how I know:

Have faith, hope, and charity.
That's the way to live successfully.
How do I know?
The Bible tells me so.

Do good to your enemies,
And the blessed Lord you'll surely please.
How do I know?
The Bible tells me so.

Don't worry 'bout tomorrow.
Just be real good today.
The Lord is right beside you.
He'll guide you all the way.

Have faith, hope, and charity,
That's the way to live successfully.
How do I know?
The Bible tells me so.

Have faith, hope, and charity.
That's the way to live successfully.
How do I know?
The Bible tells me so.

How do I know?
The Bible tells me so!
