"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness,
goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law." Galatians 5:22-23
Galations 5:22&23 "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law."
Titus 3: 1 - 8
"1 Remind them to be subject to rulers and authorities, to obey, to be ready for every good work,
2 to speak evil of no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing all humility to all men.
3 For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy,
hateful and hating one another.
4 But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared,
5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of
regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,
6 whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior,
7 that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
8 This is a faithful saying, and these things I want you to affirm constantly, that those who have believed in God should be
careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable to men." (NKJV)
2 Corinthians 6:4-6
" 4 But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses,
5 In stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labours, in watchings, in fastings;
6 By pureness, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness, by the Holy Ghost, by love unfeigned,"
gen·tle Considerate or kindly in disposition; amiable and tender. Not harsh
or severe;
Titus 3:2 The KJV says: "To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, showing all meekness
unto all men."
We are not to be brawlers. We are not to be the type of people who are walking around with a
chip on our shoulders looking for a fight. We are to be meek, gentle people. That doesn't
mean we should just lay down and let people run over us. Can we stand up for what we believe
in? Yes. Can we protect our families from an intruder? Yes. Can we fight for our Country and
other Countries' liberties? Yes. But, we are to seek every way possible around violence first.
Proverbs 15:18 says, "A wrathful man stirreth up strife: but he that is slow to anger
appeaseth strife."
A gentle person is easy to live with. Are you a gentle person?
Go back and read Titus 3:3-8.
We should remember what we were like once - before the kindness and love of God entered our lives.
Perhaps we were once foolish, disobedient and hateful ourselves. Perhaps we weren't the easiest
person to live with. Once we realize this, it might help us to become more gentle with others
who haven't come to the knowledge or understanding that we have yet. A perfect balance is
having a gentle spirit while keeping an excitement about life around you. If you can be a
dynamic person who is full of energy and vigor yet have an inner peace and gentleness, then you
have mastered your inner and outer strengths and blended them perfectly. If you think this is
easy, think again! But it is worth striving for. Remember, the Fruits of the Spirit are a Gift
from God and He wants us to have them all!
