LUKE 24:36 And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you. 37 But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit. 38 And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts? 39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have. 40 And when he had thus spoken, he showed them his hands and his feet.

When Jesus first appeared to the disciples after His resurrection, they were frightened troubled at the sight of Him. They thought Him to be a Spirit or a Ghost. But Christ rose bodily from the grave. He overcame death so we need not fear it! He bade them to look at His hands and His feet and to handle Him. You cannot touch a ghost. Jesus Christ was made in the flesh but He was God. You cannot kill God. Satan thought he had finally won the war against heaven by killing God's representative, His only Son. He should have know better.

Satan is still trying to win that war today. Anytime he can kill the faith of a Christian, anytime he can trouble us and make us doubt the deity of Christ, he has won a small victory over heaven. Jesus asked the disciples why they were so troubled at the sight of Him. Did they not believe He was coming back? Did they have so little faith in His power that they thought death could overcome Him?

I'm afraid there are many today who doubt the power of Jesus Christ and will be surprised and very troubled when He returns the next time. If we have the spirit of Christ living in us we we have no need to be afraid of His coming. We can meet Him in the air with a shout of joy and ride the glory cloud to heaven with Him. Whether we are still alive when He returns or if we leave this world before His coming, we can rejoice to see the Lord!

II Corinthians 4:8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; 9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; 10 Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.

Though we have trouble on every side yet we are not distressed. Though our troubles perplex us and we don't know what to do yet we are not in despair. Though the people of the world do not understand us and persecute us yet they cannot destroy us because God will not forsake us. We must bear the death of Christ in our bodies so that we can make manifest His resurrected life in our bodies. Through us, He lives! So when trials come and problems arise, don't be troubled, Christ is alive and living in you and He will take you through all your difficulties if you will keep your eyes on Him!

BECAUSE HE LIVES!

Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
Because He lives, all fear is gone!
Because I know, He holds the future,
And life is worth the living just because He lives!!!

[GOD BLESS]
