JOSHUA 1:7 "Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest. 8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. 9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest."
Moses died at the age of 120. His eyes had not dimmed and his strength had not diminished.
He had been successful in all he had attempted to do. Although he was not allowed to enter
into the promised land, he had successfully led the great nation of Israel through the desert
for 40 years and brought them to the edge of their inheritance. Now Joshua was to take over
the leadership of the Israelites. He had a very large pair of shoes to fill and was surely
overawed by the responsibility. God, himself, came to Joshua and reassured him. God told him
that no enemy would be able to stand before him because He would be with him just as He had
been with Moses. Then He gave him the recipe for success.
PSALM 119:97 "O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day. 98 Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies: for they are ever with me. 99 I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation. 100 I understand more than the ancients, because I keep thy precepts. 101 I have refrained my feet from every evil way, that I might keep thy word. 102 I have not departed from thy judgments: for thou hast taught me. 103 How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth! 104 Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way. 105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path."
Stop stumbling around in the dark going nowhere! Make His word a lamp unto your feet and it will surely light up your pathway to success!
