"And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall
make ruler over his household, to give them their protion of meat in due season?"
God gave Saul a kingdom. As the first king of Israel, he started out good.
But he later failed to be a good ruler. God took the kingdom away from him and gave it to
David. David made mistakes and sinned, but he was a good king. Then when David died the
kingdom was passed on to Solomon. We see this kingdom passed on from one king to another all
through the books of Kings and Chronicles. Some were good and some were terrible. Some went
to battle for the people God had given them to take care of and others put themselves before
God, likewise, has given each of us a "kingdom". Some of us have more than one: a family, a
home, a job and some even coach little league or lead a scout group, etc. God gave you these
"kingdoms". He trusted you with these responsibilities. Your job is not just a place where
you have to go from 9 to 5 to earn a living. The reward for your service is not just a
paycheck on Friday. The best reward is yet to come! Your house is not just a place where you
have to scrub toilets! Your family is not just hungry mouths to be fed with dirty clothes to
be washed. All these things put together is your "kingdom" as well as your life. God has put
you over this little corner of the world and He is critiquing your performance.
Do you greet your family with a smile at breakfast and start their day out on a positive note?
Do you take pride in your children and husband looking nice because you take care over the
laundry? Do you have a warm feeling when your family sits down to a nice dinner in the evening?
Do you go to work each day with an attitude of willingness to do the best job possible for that
day? Do you take pride in a neat and tidy yard? If not, you are missing out on your LIFE!
All these things were given to you by God to take care of and to ENJOY! Why are you here?
Why are you living? What is the point of your existance? To be a good "King/Queen" of your
"kingdom", you must work and take pride in your accomplishments each day! (Even in a sparkling
toilet bowl and shinny faucet!)
"He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to
the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks;
and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks. For none of us
liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself. For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and
whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's."
Everything we have is from God and everything we do should be FOR GOD! We are not to live our
lives for ourselves. And in everything we do, we should give God thanks that we are able to do
it. We have so much to be thankful for yet we all complain about having so much to do.
THINK: WITHOUT ALL THE THINGS YOU HAVE TO DO AND ALL THE DEMANDS YOU HAVE ON YOUR LIFE, YOU
WOULD HAVE NO LIFE!!!
THANK YOU, LORD
Thank You Lord, for the dirty dishes,
For we have food to eat.
Thank You for the electric bill,
It's cold, but we have heat.
Thank you for the dirty laundry,
And for my washing machine,
For it makes it oh so easy
To get that laundry clean.
Thank You for the job I have,
Even though it is hard.
And thank You for my tall grass,
For it means I have a yard.
My family drives me crazy,
In my face and on the phone.
But at least with all this family,
I won't grow old alone!
Thank You for my life Lord,
Though I face problems big and small.
Without the work and people,
I wouldn't have a life at all!
So give me the strength to tackle,
Every job I have to do.
And I will gladly work, Lord,
And I'll do it all for YOU!
The next time you are tempted to complain about your lot in life I hope you stop
to think that you could have no lot at all!
MAY GOD RICHLY BLESS YOU ALL THIS WEEK!
