PROVERBS 22:1a "A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches,"
How important is your name? Your given name at birth is the one people will know you by the
rest of your life but you will also be known by other names. Sometimes the names we are dubbed
in our youth stick throughout adulthood, even though we change. Every classroom has a fat
Albert, a nerd and a bully, and we are always surprised when we see them
again at a class reunion and the fat Albert is thin, the nerd is wearing contacts and muscles
and the bully is accompanied by a domineering wife.
FOOD FOR THOUGHTIdeally, we would want to project the image of Christ to others but we aren't always Christlike. A good name is something to be coveted. It is something we should all try to attain. I have heard many people say, "I don't care what they think about me." Only a foolish person would say that and really meant it! What others think about us is very important. What do people say about you behind your back? Do they give you a good name? We should strive to live our lives beyond reproach and earn a good name for ourselves. After all, we are disciples of Christ and ambassadors to Heaven! JUST REMEMBER, WHEN YOU DIE YOUR NAME IS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS YOU LEAVE BEHIND!
I hope you all have a wonderful week!
